Legal
We respect your privacy. Here is exactly what we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
At The Jewelry Vault, transparency is the foundation of everything we do — and that extends to how we handle your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains clearly what data we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and what your rights are.
We have never sold your personal information for money and we do not intend to. We do use advertising cookies, which under California law counts as “sharing” your information for targeted advertising. You can switch that off at any time using Your Privacy Choices at the bottom of any page.

Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
When you place an order, create an account, or contact us, we collect:
Information Collected Automatically
When you browse our website, we may automatically collect:
This is collected through cookies and the third-party tools listed in the Cookies section below, and only in the categories you have agreed to. None of it is tied to your name unless you place an order.
Information From Third Parties
We use Shopify as our store platform. Shopify may collect and process data in accordance with their own Privacy Policy. We recommend reviewing Shopify's Privacy Policy at shopify.com/legal/privacy for full details on how they handle data on our behalf.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect strictly to operate and improve The Jewelry Vault. Specifically, we use it to:
We will never use your information for any purpose beyond what is listed here without notifying you first.
Email Marketing
We plan to offer email marketing communications including promotions, new arrivals, and exclusive offers. You will only receive marketing emails if you explicitly opt in — at checkout or through a sign-up form on our website.
Cookies & Tracking
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We group ours into four categories. The first is required for the shop to function; the other three are yours to control, from the banner when you first arrive or from the Cookie Settings and Your Privacy Choices links at the bottom of every page.
Strictly necessary — always on
Keeps your shopping cart from emptying when you refresh, and remembers your cookie choice so we stop asking. Stored on your own device; nothing is sent to anyone. Turning these off is not possible because the shop cannot work without them.
Analytics — on unless you turn it off
Google Analytics tells us how many people visit, which pieces they look at, and where they arrived from, so we know what to make and stock. Sets _ga and _ga_… cookies for up to 13 months. We do not receive your name or email through this.
Advertising — on unless you turn it off
Meta (Instagram/Facebook) and TikTok pixels let us show our pieces to people who have visited the store. Sets _fbp, _fbc, and _ttp cookies for up to 90 days. Under California law this counts as “sharing” personal information for targeted advertising, and you may opt out at any time.
Session replay & heatmaps — on unless you turn it off
Microsoft Clarity records how visitors move, scroll, and click so we can find pages that confuse people. It runs with masking set to strict, which means all page text and anything you type is hidden before it ever reaches us — a replay shows the shape of the page and where you clicked, not its contents or your words. Sets _clck and _clsk cookies for up to a year. You can switch this off on its own without losing anything else.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a binding request and keep advertising off automatically. You do not need to do anything else.
Checkout. Payment happens on Shopify's own checkout, which sets its own cookies under Shopify's privacy policy rather than ours.
You can also block cookies in your browser settings, though doing so may stop your cart from working correctly.
Third-Party Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share limited data in the circumstances below — and note that our use of advertising cookies is legally treated as “sharing” in California, which you can turn off at any time.
All third parties we work with are required to handle your data securely and only for the specific purpose for which it was shared.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law. Specifically:
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us directly. See the Your Rights section below.
Data Security
We take the security of your personal information seriously. The Jewelry Vault uses industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
While we take every reasonable precaution to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you have any concerns about the security of your information, please contact us immediately.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights — prices, service, and warranty are identical either way. To exercise any of them, contact us using the details below. We respond within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our website after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
